"The trip changed my life. It really kind of prioritised my thinking and my whole approach on life", she told Associated Press. As an ambassador for Unicef, she will focus on children and adolescents who are vulnerable as a result of poverty, violence, abuse and neglect.
Perry plans on making one trip a year with Unicef, and wants to visit Peru, Haiti and the Philippines.
