The sad state of the strike is a disappointment to the faces of all students sitting at home, doing nothing all day, just bored and lonely. Just recently, when we thought the solution was near,a public affairs analyst, Chima Nnaji told CHANNELS, has said that the
Minister of Education, Ruqayat Rufai is not helping the on-going
industrial strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and
accused of treating the situation in an off-handed manner. He also said "The Minister of Education has not being helping matters” by “talking
glibly.” This, he said, is a very cheap way of looking at a very serious
problem.
He said “she ought to sit with her team to take a very incisive analysis of the issues moving forward”.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Mr Nnaji said “she ought to sit with her team to take a very incisive analysis of the issues moving forward”.
The recent headlines are "The president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Nasir Faggae has vowed that the union would not succumb to any pressure to call off its six weeks old strike if all its demands are not met by the government."
All i can do is shake my head and hope for things to get better. Surprisingly, this Strike is currently on its 6th week and no solution seems to be forthcoming..Now i dont blame students that run to private universities or travel abrod to study. My question still remains..what effort is the FG making on this matter?..
